Gravel Clinic for Beginners!
MOSIER, OR | APRIL 20th, 2024 9AM-12PM
Gravel cycling has EXPLODED over the past decade, moving from the fringes of endurance sport to becoming the primary way that cyclists ride, race, and experience life on two wheels. It's a glorious new side of cycling, and we understand that you are excited to get out and try this discipline. With anything new, of course, you probably have questions, and we are here to help.
You’re questions answered:
Why does everyone keep talking about tires?
How do I manage tubeless tires? What's the difference between tubeless tires and tires with tubes?
Is turning the bike different on gravel?
How can I go downhill with confidence and safety?
Is there a better way to climb on gravel?
How do I handle eating and drinking during these events?
How do I manage mud? Snow? Sand?
New Skills taught:
We don't just answer questions at our clinics—we teach the principles and then we go and PRACTICE. We will spend 90 minutes teaching you all the pertinent skills: bike-body separation, using your body weight to keep the bike under you, how to corner safely and quickly (stay OFF those brakes!), where to focus your eyes while descending, and how to manage awkward or technical sections. Once we introduce the skills we will go and PLAY, covering a 10-15 mile nearby ride that includes all of the features we talked about in the skills portion.
